Chinese New Year for Kids

Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is a joyous celebration filled with vibrant colors, tasty treats, and exciting traditions that kids love! It marks the beginning of the lunar new year in the Chinese calendar and usually falls between January 21 and February 20.

Families come together to welcome the new year and bid farewell to the old one. One of the most exciting parts for kids is the famous dragon and lion dances that parade through the streets. These colorful and lively creatures symbolize good luck and scare away evil spirits.

Red decorations are everywhere because the color red is believed to bring good fortune. Families exchange red envelopes filled with money as a symbol of blessings and good wishes.

Another highlight for kids is the delicious food, especially dumplings and sweet treats. Chinese New Year is a time for happiness, reunion, and creating cherished memories with loved ones.
