Easy Thanksgiving Slime Recipes

When we think of Thanksgiving and recipes, I’m pretty sure you aren’t thinking about Thanksgiving slime! Well, that’s our job around here, to think of cool new seasonal slime recipes for you to try with the kids! What do you know, we had a blast coming up with these slime ideas with a Thanksgiving theme. Homemade slime really can be for any time of the year.

Slime Making For Every Holiday

Over the last few years, we have become fascinated with making slime! Slime for all occasions, themes, seasons, and holidays is really our specialty.

At first, I thought this slime making thing was going to be super hard, and that I would never be able to get right. But then I tried it and loved it. Of course there was trial and error involved, but we were committed to making slime as easy as possible. Then we couldn’t stop!

Fall doesn’t end with Halloween! I think a lot of people forget about the awesome month of November and rush on to Christmas. This year we wanted to make sure that we acknowledged Thanksgiving and the rest of fall with some super cool Thanksgiving theme slime recipes.

Taste Safe Thanksgiving Slime

Below you will find the links to all our Thanksgiving slime recipes. I have also included a taste safe cranberry slime recipe from a friend of mine that I am sure you will love if you have kids who like to “sample” everything.

Our regular slime is NOT edible. The cranberry slime or the marshmallow slime is a much better option!

The base for any of these slimes uses our 5 basic slime recipes (click here) with the common slime activators; saline solution and baking soda, borax powder, or liquid starch. We even feature a couple of borax-free slime recipes below too!

Whoa! This is one of our coolest Thanksgiving slime recipes in my opinion because you actually make your slime inside a real pumpkin using real pumpkin guts as part of the recipe. Kids always find this cool!

Edible Marshmallow Slime 

Think marshmallow and sweet potato casserole with this taste safe marshmallow slime recipe! Cranberry Oobleck

Give our basic oobleck recipe a twist with the addition of cranberry juice or cranberry sauce! All you need is a liquid to mix with the cornstarch to make this themed cranberry oobleck.

Pumpkin Oobleck

Oobleck is a classic non-Newtonian fluids science activity that doubles as sensory play. The best part is that you have the ingredients for this recipe in your kitchen! It is a super simple 2- ingredient activity that is both very educational and fun!

Pumpkin Pie Cloud Dough

Pumpkin pie cloud dough can be another great taste safe Thanksgiving sensory play recipe for younger kids and uses basic pantry ingredients! This would be a perfect activity for a kid who wants to be a kitchen helper for pie baking but isn’t quite old enough to help!
